Day 5
In the morning, the party reaches the base of the cliff. The spiral wooden planks, fastened to the side of the cliff for ascending the mountain, are in plain sight.
The Lone Hero
However, a lone warrior stands in front of the very first wooden plank. He halts the party and won't let anyone pass for the good of mankind. The lone hero, Omar Pacheco (see character profile), has good intentions by nature. He will not allow anyone to acquire the Gensu seeds, to prevent the seeds from falling into the "wrong" hands.
The party will have to figure out a way to get past Omar. Either by brute force or through clever role-play. How this encounter will go is up to you and the players.
Traveling Up the Cliff
Although the wooden planks provide solid footing for the party, the characters still have to be very careful to prevent the strong wind from knocking them off the cliff. There are metal rings at chest height above each wooden plank. The characters can use rope with these rings to make traveling on the planks safer. Due to the danger, traveling on these planks is slow and tiresome. It will take all day to reach the mountain top.
On the Mountain Top
At the end of day 5, the party finally reaches the mountain top. The mountain top is flat and about fifty feet in diameter. A lone Gensu plant stands vibrantly in the middle of the plato. It stands ready to blossom at daybreak.
After the player characters make camp, Hagen will once again build a fire and cook for the party. Except this time he will add the Slow-Acting Sleeping Potion to the pot. When the party members fall asleep, he will gather the Gensu seeds at daybreak and head down the mountain. If any of the party members do not fall into Hagen's plot, he will attempt to steal the Gensu seeds from the party while traveling back home.
Daybreak
If the party avoids Hagen's meal, Claypassion the Tracker will show up with his fifteen military men at daybreak, just before the Gensu plant blossoms, for a final showdown.
